A recognized leader and pioneer in the field of photovoltaic (PV), producing cost-effective electrical power from solar energy with the highest levels of customer and industry recognition.

Job Description:
A Solar-PV Crew Chief will be responsible for managing the operational success of the photovoltaic construction site. Project responsibilities consist of overseeing the subcontractor’s installation during construction, verifying compliance with contract drawings, safety plan and daily installation production. The Crew Chief will also be responsible for the delivery of site-specific contractual obligations in the construction of solar photovoltaic systems, as well as identifying areas for continuous cost reduction. Additional duties include permitting, materials and equipment management, site and crew supervision, and coordination with estimator/project manager through job completion.

Responsibilities:
• Responsible for the planning, organization, direction, training, coordination and reporting of on-site project activities of a specific project team with regard to photovoltaic projects within established guidelines and timeframes
• Responsible to manage sub-contractors to insure the project scope awarded is built in conformance with the plans, specifications, schedule and budget.
• Perform other management functions as assigned. Projects include complete development of large photovoltaic projects.
• Travel will be required (including some overnight travel).
• Ability to walk construction job sites, climb ladders and get hands-on when necessary.
• Overtime will be required to meet project deadlines.
• Ensure attention to detail with an emphasis on quality and safety;
• Analyze and effectively resolve worker problems and recommend solutions;
• Communicate to the public and to customers in a professional, courteous and respectful manner, appropriately responding to their complaints;
• Work with up to 600 volt circuits, 3Ph. 400amp electrical services.

Qualifications:
• California State Journeyman Electrician Certification
• 5 – 8 years of Solar PV Experience
• 5+ years of supervisor or Crew Chief experience
• Ability to read, thoroughly understand NEC 690 and California Electrical Code, and edit electrical and structural plans. Candidate must have proven record of accomplishment working as a Crew Lead, or Crew Chief, leading and supporting multi-discipline teams. Prior experience in civil, electrical or mechanical engineering disciplines is a plus.
• Photovoltaic and a basic working knowledge of utility interconnection a plus.
• Individual must be knowledgeable in state & city codes & regulations required by the local building department
• Strong working knowledge of CAD drawing and symbols, and electrical line drawings
• Ability to guide the construction effort from scheduling skills to project completion
• Basic understanding of construction sub-contracts, insurance issues, permitting issues, and project scheduling
• A strong focus on customer service and satisfaction
• A personal commitment to a safe working environment for their employees
• Ability to document and report job progress clearly
• A willingness to embrace personal development and the ability to lead by example
• Strong written and oral communication and interpersonal and computer skills.
• Be able to lift 75 pounds of weight frequently throughout assigned workday
• Experience with electrical work involving wiring up to 600 VDC and 480 VAC, 3Ph.
• This position may requires access to secured and unsecured government facilities and therefore requires a clean background check (no felonies), U.S. born citizenship, a clean DMV record, and a clean drug-test.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• US Citizens Only

Education:
• BS or BA Degree in Engineering or Construction Management is preferred
• NABCEP PV or similar certification is a big plus.
